My husband and I have come to Dr. Hopkins office for many years. His staff greets us and seem very happy to see us. I cannot say enough about Dr Hopkins. He is kind, compassionate and thorough. He explains carefully what he is going to do and he shows and explains very carefully what the exam showed. We trust him.

About Your Insurance

There are two types of insurance that may help pay for your eye health services:
1. Vision Care Plans (e.g. Vision Service Plan, Vision Care Direct)
2. Medical Insurance (e.g. Blue Cross, Aetna, United Health Care, Medicare, etc..)

Vision Care Plans only cover routine vision exams and in most cases eyeglasses and/or contact lenses. Vision plans typically only cover basic screening for eye diseases. They do not cover additional visits for treatment and management.

Medical Insurance typically is used if you have any eye health problems (e.g. glaucoma, cataracts, eye infections, macular degeneration, dry eye, etc…) or systemic health problems (e.g. diabetes or taking high risk medications such as plaquenil) that could have ocular complications. If you have both types of insurance, it may be necessary to bill services to one versus the other.

We will bill your insurance plan for services if we are a participating provider for that plan. We will try to obtain advanced authorization of your insurance benefits to let you know what it provides. If some fees are not paid by your plan, we will bill you for any unpaid deductibles, co pays or non-covered services as allowed by the insurance contract.
